The Eco-Just Food Network is hosting a 3-part Emergency Food Forum series throughout April 2021, with the forums taking place on Wednesdays April 14, April 21 and April 28, all from 6:30-9 p.m.
The series is aimed at designing actionable solutions and systemic demands for healthy, resilient, urban and rural food systems, and will build on lessons and momentum from last year.
Local Food and Farm Co-ops, one of the co-hosts, shared in their latest newsletter:
“Last year at this time, representatives from 73 organizations and farms came together to create actionable solutions and to address the short-term pandemic emergency as well as long-term systemic issues such as climate change and food insecurity in rural and urban communities.
This year we’re back and ready to continue the work, now with having created the Eco Just Food Network to push forward collective strategies. Come collaborate across sectors and diverse communities to help transform our local food system. We will use a human rights lens to cultivate eco-logical and climate resilient solutions that support healthy food sovereignty for peoples of Indigenous and African Descent and all our relations, human and non-human. Everyone is welcome to join and we hope to see you there.”
