A group of researchers from the University of Toronto Scarborough, Ryerson University and caterToronto who are studying small food businesses that sell culturally important dishes to people in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) have just launched a survey.

Are you a small entrepreneur who makes food to sell in your community? Do you run a tiffin service? Do you prepare a special dish that people in your community like to order for religious occasions, special events and parties? Do you help people feed their families by selling them pre-made dishes or staples? Have you turned to preparing food to sell on a small-scale (just a few customers) because of the pandemic? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are invited to answer the survey!

The survey is anonymous and will take 10 minutes or less to complete: https://questionnaire.simplesurvey.com/f/l/catering_survey

The survey will help the research team understand the ways people buy and sell food in the city, and with the information gathered, they will advocate for better facilities, rules and regulations to make sure these businesses can thrive in the GTHA.
