The website for the 2019 National Farm to School Conference is now live!
The conference, hosted by Farm to Cafeteria Canada (F2CC), is taking place in Victoria, B.C. from May 15 – 17, 2019. Stay tuned for registration details.
If you have ideas for a workshop, presentation, short talk or abstract, the conference Call for Proposals is open until December 15, 2019.
In particular, F2CC is looking for youth (12-25) proposal submissions — a great opportunity for students to present their inspiring school-food and campus-food programs on a national stage!
The conference planning committee is looking to identify schools and outstanding students to join them at the conference and help showcase the terrific work that is being done in schools and on campuses, especially those schools in which the students are directly involved in the success of their respective programs.
The conference program themes are far-reaching and involve many unique aspects of school and community food, including Indigenous foods, food literacy, healthy eating, school gardens and more.
At present, the conference committee is fundraising to help offset the costs of travel and accommodation, and hopefully make youth conference attendance more accessible. Updates will be provided in the near future.
Be sure to visit the conference website here to learn more. We hope to see you there!
