The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and the Windsor-Essex Food Policy Council, with support from the WindsorEssex Community Foundation, have begun hosting community conversations around their local food system.

Community members are invited to share their thoughts on the local food system at one of the 10 events taking place from November 1-22. See the full list of dates and locations here.

Those who are unable to attend a conversation are encouraged to share their opinion through an online food system survey.

The purpose of the assessment is to learn about and then strengthen the food system in the area for all residents of Windsor-Essex.

“Our goal is to use this information to support a broader Community Food Assessment, so we can learn where the gaps in our food system are, and begin to create plans to solve these issues,” says Karen Bellemore, Public Health Nutritionist and Chair of the Food Policy Council in this news release.
