Victoria Hall Volunteers invite you to their Food and Farms Tour and Tasting, highlighting foods of Northumberland County, on Wednesday, October 10.

The day-long guided bus tour visiting Northumberland County farms will be followed by a tastings event in the Concert Hall at Victoria Hall in Cobourg.

The tour will give visitors a first-hand look at local farming practices guided by Peter Brotherhood and Paul Burnham, and will visit a unique group of farms producing maple syrup, honey, hops for local craft beer, and blackcurrants. Visitors will also learn about growing saffron, a new product in the county.

Tickets for both the Tour and Tastings are $75. Tickets for the Tasting alone, an opportunity to sample some unusual local produce, are $20.

The tour will leave Victoria Hall at 9 a.m. and includes lunch at The Grafton Inn. The Tastings event is from 5-7 p.m.

All tickets can be ordered from the Victoria Hall box office: 905-372-2210, www.concerthallatvictoriahall.com (HST and a service charge will apply).

Note: Guests for the bus tour need to be ambulatory, as they will be on and off the bus at the various stops. Parking passes for the day will be available for bus tour participants at the Town of Cobourg’s tax office.

This event is supported by Northumberland County’s Economic Development Department.
