Open Food Network Canada, located in Kitchener-Waterloo, is celebrating their official launch on Friday, July 27 at 4 p.m. at the First United Church (16 William St W, Waterloo).

The event is happening in partnership with Bailey’s Local Foods, who will be celebrating their 10th anniversary, and will offer the opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn about the network, and pick up a few items that will be available for purchase.

The event will be of interest to some of our members in the Waterloo area — Open Food Network is particularly reaching out to representatives from various organizations who will benefit from open access to online tools that put more control over food systems in the hands of the producer.

Open Food Network Canada uses an open source online marketing platform to connect local, green, healthy and fair food initiatives with eaters. Learn more on their website here.
