Bring Food Home is fast approaching and we are so excited! Have you heard about it and know what it is?

What is Bring Food Home? #BringFoodHome2017

Sustain Ontario, the Eastern Ontario Local Food Conference and local host Just Food will Bring Food Home this October! Local and regional partners are coming together to plan this dynamic conference, where food and farming actors share experience and expertise, build capacity for collaboration and reconciliation within Ontario’s local food networks, and coordinate actions that will lead to sustainable transformations of food systems in Ontario and beyond.

Join 400+ people from Ontario’s food system, who are moving us toward a brighter and more sustainable food future. Tasters, buyers, producers, planners, organizations, and dreamers will gather and collaborate across Ontario to share successes, gain skills, and work together to create an even better food system.

Participants can indulge in three days of inspiring speakers, local tours, engaging panels, hands on workshops, action planning sessions, in addition to networking opportunities, our Halloween Social and our Feast of Local Flavors. Have you seen our program? It’s up on the website ready for you to explore! You can access the sessions, speakers and schedule Here.

Feast of Local Flavours: Limited Tickets!

The Feast of Local Flavours will be a night of highlighting local food grown within the region, prepared by chefs who support local, sustainable food producers and processors!

The Feast of Local Flavours has traditionally been a mix and mingle, tradeshow or food fair event, with delegates picking up small samples from a range of providers.  This year we intend to highlight the full fine dining experience that Eastern Ontario has to offer with a multi-course, plated dinner.

The arrangement of courses will be designed to take the attendees on an historical adventure from indigenous foods appetizer to a desert course featuring the most recent addition to our cultural mosaic, a tea service run by a group of Syrian refugees.  Each course will involve collaboration with local producers and local chefs (including both Savour Ottawa and those further afield in Eastern Ontario) along with appropriate local beverages to provide a unique culinary, cultural and historical perspective on Ontario’s food systems. This event promises to truly introduce attendees to the vast range of local foods, and foster linkages and exchanges between local food enterprises.

The full menu details will be announced soon! Tickets are limited as we have limited seating in our venue. If you are eager to come, it’s best to purchase your ticket sooner then later! They can be purchased Here.
