Eat Local Sudbury: 3rd Annual Harvest Feast Gala Fundraiser
One of Sustain Ontario’s members, Eat Local Sudbury, is a not-for-profit co-operative where both eaters and farmers work together to grow the local food system. This organization believes everyone should be able to access fresh, healthy and sustainable food grown right within Northeastern Ontario. They also run a local food grocer and distribution center that sells food produced within 150 miles radius of Sudbury. In addition to this grocery store, Eat Local Sudbury hosts workshops for adults and kids on cooking with local ingredients, partners with local daycare’s and schools to get local food on their menus, performs high quality workshops to farmers to support their businesses, offers farm tours to explore farms within the region and works in the city and government to support a growing generation of new farmers. On September 29, Eat Local Sudbury will be celebrating their 3rd Annual Harvest Feast Gala Fundraiser at Collège Boréal’s beautiful “Au pied du rocher” venue. Chef Jean will be preparing a three-course meal, made out of the best local and seasonal ingredients.
