Everyone in the food value chain from growers to retailers are invited to attend a free one-day Food Waste Reduction workshop hosted by the Ontario Produce Marketing Association (OPMA).

Food waste in fresh produce typically accounts for 20% of all costs and reducing waste by just 1% is often the equivalent of a 4% increase in revenue. This workshop will teach simple ways to identify and reduce waste in businesses across the food chain. Training will be conducted by Value Chain Management International. A series of workshops will be held throughout the year, with the first two fast approaching:

  • February 8 (10am-3:30pm) – OPMA Boardroom in Toronto Food Terminal
  • March 29 (10am-3:30pm) – OPMA Boardroom in Toronto Food Terminal

Register by calling or emailing Dee at 416-519-9390 x 233 or dee@theopma.ca.

Please note: The workshop and materials provided are free. However, the OPMA is asking people for $20 – $25 each to cover lunch costs.
