The Toronto Youth Food Policy Council (TYFPC) a member of Sustain Ontario is hosting an event tonight December 5th that will look at issues related to the labour market and local food. The event will take place in Toronto between 6:00pm- 8:00pm at 720 Spadina Ave, 2nd floor, Room 223 in the Worker’s Action Centre. The event is free and will included light refreshments!
TYFPC Presents: Hidden Labour: This is What Local Looks Like + ‘Gathering’ Journal Launch!
Do you ever wonder about all the different hands that bring your “local food” to the table? This interactive event is about providing a glimpse into the precarious and unseen labour that upholds our food system, and the complexities of “local food”, featuring perspectives from Southern Ontario migrant farm labourers, food service workers, and community activists from Justicia (“Justice”) for Migrant Workers.
