There’s nothing better than receiving a “one-of-a-kind”, locally produced gift. Get out into the community and support farmers and makers this season with some savvy local purchasing.

The Ottawa Farmer’s Market’s Christmas Market
If you live in the Ottawa area be sure to check out the Ottawa Farmer’s Market’s Christmas Market, which hosts over 100 vendors of locally grown and locally made food, as well as arts and crafts.
When: December 2 – 4, 9 – 11 and 16 – 18

The Museum’s Christmas Market

Check two items off your to-do list this holiday season by visiting this Christmas Market at the Canadian Museum of History. Find over 90 exhibitors selling cheese, bread, organic produce, artisan spirits, jewelry, accessories and more.

6th Annual Christmas Markets
If you live in or near Meaford, it’s not too late to check out the last day of their 6th Annual Christmas Market. Organized by the Meaford Farmer’s Market, the event features over 30 vendors and live music!
When: December 10
Where: Meaford Hall, Meaford

Coldwater Mill Christmas Market
Check out Coldwater Mill’s Christmas Market, featuring local over 20 artisans in an old fashioned setting.
Where: Coldwater Mill at 1 Mill Street and the Public Library at 31 Coldwater Street, Coldwater.
When: December 2, 9 and 16

Algoma Farmers’ Market
Visit the Algoma Farmers’ Market in Sault Ste. Marie to check out their locally produced goods. The market will be open on additional Saturdays to cater to holiday shoppers.
When: Saturdays before Christmas, as well as December 16, 22 and 23.
Where: Wellington Square Mall, Sault Ste. Marie

Royal Botanical Garden’s Fest-of-Ales
The RBG’s Fest-of-Ales features local craft breweries and food stations. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Don’t forget to check out Beau’s Brewery!

Pop Up: Holiday XIII with Patrick Wiese
Not exactly a holiday market, this pop-up dinner looks like it’s going to be unforgettable nonetheless. Join Chef Patrick Wiese for a feast of local food, wines and craft beers. Pop-Up Hamilton creates food and wine experiences in unexpected locations, working with local farmers, wineries and chefs.

Holiday Maker’s Market at Evergreen’s Winter Village
If you live in the GTA and haven’t been to the Evergreen Brickworks yet, it’s time to get on down there. Their outdoor Makers’ Market, delivered in partnership with Etsy Canada, is bound to be a fantastic mix of crafted goods and homemade foods.
When: December 10 – 23 and December 26 to January 8

Creemore Farmers’ Market Christmas Market
Check out the Creemore Farmers’ Market this weekend for a special Christmas Market. The Market promises hot apple cider, BBQ as well as old and new vendors this year.
