Globally, 33% of food production is wasted each year. In Canada 50% of this waste occurs at the household level. In the United States 30% of the food currently grown and processed is wasted. Learn more about food waste reduction in a free webinar, Too Good to Waste, Thursday July 21, 1:00-2:30 p.m. EDT hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Webinar will focus on results from EPA evaluation report on several food waste campaigns and the experiences of three communities that successfully have implemented the Food: Too Good to Waste toolkit. According to EPA, this toolkit was developed for local governments and other community partners to help prevent food waste at the household level. It has been tested throughout the U.S. and helps households save money while reducing wasted food by up to 25%.
