The Government of Ontario invites public feedback on its draft Pollinator Health Action Plan to improve pollinator health and reduce pollinator losses.   Click here for feedback submission details!  Deadline is March 07, 2016.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) and Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) developed the draft plan with the stated purpose of enhancing the health of Ontario’s managed and wild pollinators.

The Government of Ontario acknowledged the role of neonicotinoids in the decline of pollinator health and announced Ontario’s Pollinator Health Strategy in November 2014.  It then introduced new rules restricting the use of corn and soybean seeds treated with neonicotinoid pesticides on July 1, 2015.
