Workshops: Business Training for Market Farmers and Vendors

This April, the Greenbelt Farmers’ Market Network is hosting three business training workshops for market farmers and vendors. These workshops will be practical, inspiring, hands-on events, relevant to both long-established and nearly-new farmers’ market vendors. The goal is to help vendors build solid businesses to meet their financial and lifestyle goals. Some of the key topics include:
- Effective goal setting strategies
- Tweaking your ‘money mindset’
- Using a cost-capturing pricing formula
- Using your competition to grow your business, and
- ‘Relationship marketing’ techniques
Michelle Wolf, Director of Training for Farmers’ Markets of Nova Scotia, will be leading the events. She is one of Canada’s leading farmers’ market experts, having worked with and trained numerous farmers’ market managers and vendors. More information about Michelle can be found on her website.
These events will be taking place in three locations:
Toronto: FoodShare, 90 Croatia Street (Thursday, April 23 – 9:30am to 3:30pm)
Grimsby: Station 1 Coffeehouse, 2nd Floor, 28 Main Street East (Friday, April 24 – 9:30am to 3:30pm)
Uxbridge: Trinity United Church Friendship Hall, 20 First Avenue (Saturday, April 25 – 9:30am to 3:30pm)
Register early to reserve your spot. The deadline to do so is April 17. Each workshop costs $35, which includes materials, coffee, tea, snacks and lunch. Payments can be made online or by cheque to FoodShare (more details here).
