From Food Innovation Northwestern Ontario:
Interested in Local Food Distribution?
Several unique challenges related to food distribution affect communities in Northwestern Ontario (NWO). Several factors such as geographic distance and lack of adequate transportation make the distribution of locally and regionally produced food difficult in NWO.
In an effort to find a solution to this problem the Food Security Research Network (FSRN) at Lakehead University will be launching the Food Distribution Challenge, which will be asking for the submission of ideas on how to create a more efficient and reliable local food distribution system in NWO.
No idea is too big or small and the FSRN is interested in receiving ideas from everyone! This challenge is open to applicants of all locations– it is not limited to those living in Ontario.
Several prizes will be awarded for the winning submission ideas: $300.00 for first place, $200.00 for second place, and $100.00 for 10 runner-up submissions.
If you are up to the challenge please visit the website at www.foodinnovation.ca and join the Facebook group, Food Innovation Northwestern Ontario, to find out more about the contest details.
The deadline for the submissions is February 22, 2015.
If you have any questions please visit the website’s FAQ page, get in touch with FSRN at info@foodinnovation.ca, or through the website by filling in the Contact Us form.
