After two years of asking for change in the supply managed system for broilers, we have been heard!

chicken-430x430The Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO), Association of Chicken Processors and Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission have been hosting a stakeholder consultations on allocating growth in Ontario’s chicken industry. This is a rare opportunity for open conversation that will impact decisions about how new chicken quota is allocated. Sustain Ontario attended the public meeting on January 27th to share the Sustain Ontario position on supply management as expressed by members and  allies of the Flocking Options campaign as well as the We Want Northern Chickens campaign.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Send a Letter

Fill out the form below to send a message to the Farm Products Marketing Commission, the Chicken Farmers of Ontario, the consultant in charge of the consultations, and the Hon. Jeff Leal, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

2. Fill in the Consultation Form

Copy and paste the letter from the form and anything else you would like to say to into the Consultation Form by Friday, Feb. 6, 2015.
