Community Food Centres Canada, a Sustain Ontario Member, has just posted a sneak preview of their new PSA that will be airing on TV for the first two weeks of September. The short video demonstrates the power of food literacy and food skills programs as ways to support healthy, inclusive communities.
From CFCC:
Good food has the power to change lives. Through a good meal, you can express love and caring for someone. Getting your hands dirty in the garden can be a way to improve physical and social health, and to nurture the earth. Spend time in the kitchen and you can learn new skills, new food knowledge, and share cultures and traditions. Coming together over food can bring a community together. Food feeds and binds us in many ways, and it’s those possibilities that we try to harness in all of our programs.
Over the summer, we worked with the terrific team at Dot Dot Dash to develop a PSA that will run on Corus Entertainment channels YTV, W Network, OWN, Spark, CMT and other channels during the first two weeks of September. The spot was filmed in a variety of locations over the course of one day using a slingshot rig camera set-up. We think it perfectly encapsulates what a powerful force in peoples lives healthy food can be, and we’re proud to give you a sneak peek of it here.
We’d like to thank the Sam Roberts Band for the generous use of their music, the great professionals at Saints and Alter Ego for post-production assistance, our stars for lending their time and acting skills to the project, and our partners at The Stop and the Regent Park Community Food Centre for hosting us. The PSA was made possible by the generous supporters of our work across the country including Corus Entertainment, CMT, Strategy Partners Inc., 1832 Asset Management, IÖGO and Shaw Communications.
