Interested in learning more about the role of a healthy diet and cooking together have in mental health promotion? Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC), a Sustain Ontario member, is hosting a webinar, “Food on our minds: Diet, mental health, and the role of community food programs”, moderated by Dr. Trace MacKay with panelists Karen Davison and Kristy Dunnion, which will explore how diet, mental health, and food insecurity are closely connected.
Karen Davison, a dietitian and leading researcher in the intersection of nutrition and mental health, will share key findings from her work. Kristyn Dunnion, the Community Kitchen Coordinator at The Stop Community Food Centre, will speak about her experience running food programs for those struggling with mental health and poverty. This free webinar will take place on Wednesday April 9th, 2014, from 12 pm to 1 pm EDT. After the event, material from the webinar will be shared on The Pod Knowledge Exchange, a multimedia online resource bank for those looking for in-depth information on all kinds of topics related to community food programs.
