Food Innovation: Northwestern Ontario has launched a new crowdsourcing contest which invites high school, university and college students to design a more effective and efficient local food distribution system for Northwestern Ontario.
Recent studies have recognized that local producers and processors lack the necessary distribution networks across Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. This new contest, entitled NWO FoodEx, seeks submissions from creative, engaged, and dedicated youth who may have a solution for this problem. Several cash prizes offered.
Deadline for submissions is May 15, 2014, and judging will be June 2014. Full contest details are available in the supplied handout and online. Questions can be directed to info@foodinnovation.ca or the designated Facebook group.
