n Monday September 30th from 1-2pm EDT, Community Foundations of Canada and Food Secure Canada will be hosting a preview webinar highlighting the findings from Vital Signs 2013: Report on Food. The full report will be publicly released on October 1st. Webinar participation is open-access and available through Food Secure Canada’s website. Register now!

Vital Signs is an annual community check-up conducted by community foundations across Canada. It provides a comprehensive, reader-friendly look at how our communities are faring in key quality-of-life areas. This year, 26 community foundations across Canada will launch their own local Vital Signs reports on October 1st. In addition, Community Foundations of Canada will launch a national report that focuses on food.
Why food? Among Canada’s 191 community foundations you’d be hard pressed to find a foundation that isn’t supporting a program or organization related to food. A nationwide examination of the food system in Canada gives communities a platform for discussion and action.
