On Thursday, January 17th, the talented staff and students of Wellington County’s Food School will team up with Toronto restauranteur Zane Caplansky to serve a deli-style dinner that is guaranteed to impress. Ticket sales will raise funds to support students learning how to grow good food. More information is available at the Wellington Centre for Sustainable Agriculture website, including the dinner’s menu.
Zane Caplansky is an exciting mentor to be visiting the Food School. Celebrated in the media, Gourmet Magazine describes him as “a new breed of deli men who look to the farmers market for inspiration,” while Adam Sachs of the New York Times lists Caplansky as one of the “farmers, chefs, butchers and restauranteurs credited with turning the city into a carnivore’s dinning destinations.”
Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased at either Sante in Elora or Fraberts in Fergus. This event is limited seating and all proceeds will go to supporting a new, young generation of amazing farmers!
In addition, an Ontario wine or microbrewery menu will also be thoughtfully presented ($20/person) with a focus on each individual course.
