The Metro Green Apple School Program is accepting submissions for projects that will encourage students to adopt healthy eating habits. If you have an idea for project that will have a positive impact on their home, school or community environment, be sure to get in your proposal!

Metro’s Green Apple School Program, launched in September 2009, was created to encourage the development of a healthier environment and societal well-being. It has enabled thousands of children from across Québec and Ontario to become involved in their schools and to make a difference in their communities. Over the first three editions of the program, almost $6M has been donated to elementary schools and secondary schools in Québec and Ontario.

Accordingly, the mission of the new Green Apple School Program is to encourage students to adopt healthy eating habits by taking part in a project that will have a positive impact on their home, school or community environment.

This shift coincides with growing health concerns in Canada, specifically rising obesity rates among both adults and children. With the new Green Apple School Program, Metro hopes to encourage young people to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout their entire lives.

Visit the Metro Green Apple School Program website for more detail on eligibility criteria, project ideas, and funding.
