The 2nd Annual Eastern Ontario Local Food Conference will take place on November 22, 2012 at the University of Guelph Kemptville Campus. This year’s theme is “Collaborating for Success”.
The keynote address will be “Collaborating for Success – the Value Chain Model and Profitability” by Terry Ackerman. This address will provide a practical guide to creating and building profitable value chains based on real life examples of successful value chains in Canada.
This is an invitation to submit proposals for breakout sessions that contribute to the theme. We welcome proposals that:
- Profile successful business models in agriculture and food
- Demonstrate innovative practices
- Report on significant regional or provincial initiatives
- Deliver technical content that will benefit businesses in the sector (e.g. financing, marketing, production, business management, planning, coalition building, etc.)
- Encourage networking/partnership building between stakeholders
To submit a proposal, please fill in the Proposal Form below and send to Katie Nolan at katie.nolan@ontario.ca. The deadline for submissions is July 6, 2012.
A conference advisory committee composed of regional local food organizations will review all submissions and select the ones that best support this year’s theme. All submissions will receive a response in August.
