Sustain Ontario Announces Support for Regional Meetings

Sustain Ontario has some funding and capacity to support regional meetings in Ontario over the next two years. The purpose of these meetings can be to bring together groups that do not normally work together, build regional capacity, undergo a strategic planning process, identify important policy and research steps, and/or other goals that the event leaders identify. Organizations can apply for funding and event support by filling in an application by January 30th, 2012. See Regional Events page for details.
We see this as a partnership rather than a granting service and hope to be involved in the planning of the event. As with most of our work, Sustain Ontario aims to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and issues in order to foster innovative solutions that cross sectors. We hope to see several counties and/or municipalities coming together but recognize that you may have specific emerging issues that you would like to tackle. We see this application as the beginning of a conversation and ask that you are flexible in your vision and open to the possibility of working with other groups and themes.
