Sustain Ontario is thrilled to announce funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to support our core network development work.

The workplan included with this proposal details five broad areas of work for Sustain Ontario over three years, including:

1. Improved communications

2. Enhanced strategic food system analysis and capacity of members to engage in policy making

3. Resourced and co-ordinated farm and food working groups

4. Strengthened and growing network

5. Effecting policy change

This new funding also enables us to hire a program manager.

For 2011 you can expect to see Sustain Ontario working with our partners across the province on a strategy to get food and farming issues on the provincial election agenda, the second Bring Food Home conference, policy webinars, an ever-improving website, and promoting Ontario’s good food ideas.

A big thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for supporting our work to build a food system that is healthy, ecological, equitable and financially viable.
