On today’s podcast Erin Beagle from Roots to Harvest joined us to discuss how their programs engage children and youth in local food programming.
Roots to Harvest, a Sustain Ontario Member, is a not for profit organization based in Thunder Bay. Their mission is to provide transformation education opportunities for youth to engage with local agriculture and cultivate healthy communities. They have a variety of programs that work with youth, schools, and the wider community. Today Erin talks to us about their farm to caf program, which brings local food into the cafeterias of all Lakehead District Board high schools.
Erin Beagle, the Executive Director of Roots to Harvest, loves being a part of an organization that is affecting positive change, she loves working with young people, eating veggies fresh out of the ground and she loves feeling tired at the end of a good day of work.
