Why does local food matter?  Stay tuned to Sustain Ontario’s Growing Good Food Ideas Podcast Series launched for Local Food Week to explore the answers from diverse perspectives.  Guests discuss what local food means for climate change, school food, basic income, and our connections to nature.

On today’s podcast we talk with John Rowe from Rowe Farms, who gave us insight into the effects of climate change on the farming sector.  John Rowe is a grass-fed beef farmer and the founder of Rowe Farms where conscious farming includes the fair and humane treatment of animals and care for the land. John was an early adopter of grass-fed beef, starting his herd in 1968. He believes that ‘What is environmentally best is best for us’ and this rings true through his farming and business practices.
