We’re thrilled to see the Ontario Farm to School Challenge kick off its October round alongside the exciting announcement of an additional $3 million towards Student Nutrition Programs coming from the provincial Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Did you know that October is National Farm to School Month in the United States too?  Contribute to the good news stories around student nutrition and food literacy by participating in the Ontario Farm to School Challenge.

Join us on Tuesday October 15th at 3:30p.m. EDT for our second Challenge webinar, “October’s Ontario Farm to School Challenge: opening the floor to your experiences with barriers and solutions.” Register now!

As we reach the halfway point of October’s Ontario Farm to School Challenge, we’d like to open the floor to discuss your Farm to School program barriers and solutions. This webinar is an opportunity to connect with the Challenge organizers and regional partners to hear on-the ground experiences and how some of you are making it work and what you’re still struggling with.

Our presenters include Erin Beagle, Program Coordinator at Roots to Harvest (Thunder Bay), and Gayle Cruikshank, Executive Director at Halton Food for Thought (Burlington), who will each discuss their organizations’ programs that connect youth and food. Attendees will also hear from Cathy O’Connor from Dietitians of Canada with an update about the Fresh from the Farm fundraising project. After hearing from our presenters the session will then open the floor to let you share your ideas, questions, and experiences.

Tell us your questions ahead of time on the Challenge Facebook page or via Twitter @ONFarm2School. Stay tuned for more details as the webinar approaches.

Register for the October 15th webinar.
