Sustain Ontario’s work on the Local Food Act

The Ontario Liberals are currently working on drafting a Local Food Act for the province, as promised in their election platform, to increase local food purchases. On July 31, 2012, Sustain Ontario submitted a Local Food Act Statement of Purpose with 77 endorsements, a set of Drafting Notes outlining the administrative and legislative details of the Act, and 4 backgrounders outlining specific recommendations. The Sustain Ontario team hopes to create several more backgrounders before the Act is officially tabled.
