The City of Toronto has proclaimed Friday, September 15, 2017, as the city’s first official Urban Agriculture Day!

Toronto Urban Growers (TUG), a Sustain Ontario member, is celebrating across the city for 9 days, with a variety of events taking place from September 9th-17th.

The day (or week rather) is a great time to acknowledge and celebrate all that urban agriculture achieves, not just in terms of growing food in the city, but also the ripple of benefits it provides for our community, health & wellbeing, and economy.

Check out the Urban Agriculture Day website for more information and a listing of the community-based events near you, including:

The Toronto Food Policy Council is hosting a public forum, Growing in the City, on September 13th at the Ryerson Architecture Building.

Black Creek Community Farm is hosting a Dinner at the Farm! A night of Culinary Enchantment on September 14th.

Building Roots is celebrating with Growing Diversity: a Reception at Ashbridge Estate on September 15th.

Be sure to check out all the events here! If you have an event you would like to promote, register with TUG on their website.
