Beau’s Brewery, one of Sustain Ontario’s newest members, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to help open a brewery in Rwanda that is women owned and operated. They are helping assist Josephine “Fina” Uwineza in opening up the new brewery, she is a Rwandan woman who has already ran two successful business in Rwanda. The Beau’s team will help provide Uwineza with financial support, consulting services, assistance with fundraising, and skills training for her and her future employees.

Beaus published a press release that was very careful to point out that none of the profits from the Rwandan brewery will go back to Beau’s or to the other partners. Beau’s co-founder Steve Beauchesne stated that they have “always done what they can to help other craft breweries, be it lending supplies and equipment, or looking over business plans. This project is significantly more involved, but it’s rooted in the same principles of being open and willing to help.” The Kickstarter only has 4 days left to donate and depending on how much you donate you can get some really cool stuff such as private tours at the Beaus brewery, access to the Beaus graphic designer, merchandise and much more. To learn more about the story and the Kickstarter visit the Beaus website and help support this great initiative!
