foodbywardsmallToronto is rich with food assets, and the Toronto Food Policy Council and Toronto Youth Food Policy Council invite you to celebrate with other Food Champions at the launch of Food by Ward, May 3, 12-2:00 p.m. at Toronto City Hall.  Celebrate the work of hundreds who are growing our City’s food assets and meet City Councillors to encourage their support.

The Food by Ward initiative showcases Toronto’s food assets and opportunities and calls for greater attention to food as an integral element of our urban system. Food by Ward documents food assets and opportunities, ward by ward, across the City of Toronto.

With leadership from the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council, The Food by Ward initiative has engaged over 200 Food Champions across the City of Toronto.

Food by Ward resources are available online now! Use these resources to find the closest food bank, community garden and farmer’s market in Toronto. The resource also points to the unequal distribution of food assets across the city and addresses the barriers communities face when trying to find or start food programs.  Copies of Food by Ward resources will also be available at the event.
