Submit Your Local Recipes by Oct. 21 to the Royal Winter Fair High School Chef Competition

FoodShare and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair have partnered again to bring High School Chefs an exciting province-wide competition.
The second annual Royal Winter Fair High School Chef Competition invites teams of 4 students from high schools across Ontario to enter their best recipes, which should meet the following criteria:
• feature local, seasonal Ontario produce
• work as an easy, fast food option for high school cafeterias
• meet the Province of Ontario’s School Nutrition Standards (PPM-150)
• demonstrate creativity and culinary prowess
• reflect Ontario’s culinary diversity
• look, taste and smell delicious
Recipes must be submitted by Friday, October 21, 2016 at 5 p.m. to royalrecipes@foodshare.net. Applicants are also requested to submit an original photo of their creations alongside the recipe submission.
Three finalist schools will be announced on October 28th. The three finalist schools will receive a $300 travel subsidy to attend the Royal Winter Fair for a live cook-off on Tuesday, November 8, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Click on the flyer above for more details.
