greenhouseblogpostGood food action is germinating in Sustain Ontario’s new online resource centre, Food Initiatives Greenhouse.  This innovative, interactive online site holds a growing collection of community vetted food strategies, tools, and tactics organized into main initiative areas including School Food, Urban and Residential Agriculture, Evaluation, Food Waste, and more.

The Food Initiatives Greenhouse team brainstorm of the new site.

The site, announced during Local Food Week, is a tool for food advocates working to create healthy, equitable, ecologically resilient, and financially viable food systems.  The library is designed to help make connections and transfer knowledge to facilitate the accelerated implementation of policies and practices that advance local food systems – to translate good food ideas into good food action!

We’ve been working on developing the greenhouse for quite awhile at Sustain, with a strong team of volunteers and staff and insightful input from our advisory. This tool is developed as part of an Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant.

To learn more about how to connect to the Food Initiatives Greenhouse, subscribe to our newsletter and stay tuned for the full launch on September 15th.
