Join food system leaders from across Canada to explore the next steps for food policy and advocacy. Following the first Changing the Menu national school food conference (November 12-14), Food Secure Canada (FSC) is hosting the Next Steps for Food Policy in Canada event in Montreal, this Sunday November 15th.
The conference will kick off with some brief presentations on the post-election landscape and the opportunities the new government brings for policy and food system change.
Some of the topics for discussion during the event are:
- The upcoming negotiations of Growing Forward Three (GF3);
- The ongoing review of evidence for Canada’s Food Guide;
- The next federal budget;
- Exploring the potential for a National Food Policy Council;
- Food Secure Canada’s upcoming Assembly in 2016.
For FSC members, the AGM and Eat Think Vote campaign debrief will be held from 10:00am – 12:30pm.
The main event will take place from 12:30pm – 5pm at UQAM in the Pavillion Coeur des Sciences.
You can register here. The cost (which includes a networking lunch) is $25 for FSC members and students (with ID) and $40 for non-members. Due to limited space, priority will be given to FSC members.
