Food Revolution Day 2015 squareUK-based good food hero and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is leading a global campaign to put compulsory practical food education on the school curriculum. The Food Revolution Day 2015 campaign calls on leaders and governments of G20 countries to make food education part of every school curriculum in an effort to increase awareness and access to healthy food, and tackle the causes of diet-related disease. The petition, launched in March, has over 840,000 signatures from over 182 countries at time of writing.

“My wish is to create a strong sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook and empower people everywhere to fight obesity.” – Jamie Oliver. Read his full letter.

The Food Revolution Day (FRD) website has highlighted a series of Canadian teams planning activities for May 15th. With over 117 ambassadors, Canada is the 4th largest FRD ‘territory’. Take a look at what some of the Canadian FRD ambassadors are planning!
