Glen-Murray-Idea-Distillery-logoEvery month Hon. Glen Murray, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change and MPP of Toronto Centre, hosts a speaker series called Idea Distillery, with the upcoming seventh event focusing in on Food Security. The event will include discussions about how food security relates to our health, the environment, social welfare, agricultural issues and seed supply.

Date: Tuesday January 27th, 2015
Location: Signs Restaurant, 558 Yonge Street, Toronto
Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

The guests speakers for the night include representatives from two Sustain Ontario Members:

Wayne Roberts: With 10 years as manager of Toronto Food Policy Council, and 35 years of activism, Wayne Roberts is an esteemed food policy analyst and the author of The No Nonsense Guide to World Food. Wayne Roberts Consulting is a Sustain Ontario Member.

Alison Blay-Palmer is founding Director of Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at Wilfred Laurier University, a Sustain Ontario Member, and has authored  Imagining sustainable food systems: Theory and practice’ and  Food fears: From industrial to sustainable food systems’ which explore pressures and opportunities related to food system sustainability.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
