The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is offering a series of workshops on value-added opportunities for Ontario agri-food producers and rural businesses, with dedicated mini-workshops for organic farmers and for fruit and vegetable growers. Participants will learn how to generate and evaluate product and service ideas that could enhance their businesses and diversify their income.

Workshops and webinars are scheduled for February and March. Participants are welcome to take advantage of blended learning opportunities, combining an in-person workshop, interactive webinars, and self-paced eLearning modules. See the in-person workshop details below.

Webinars are scheduled for February 24, March 3, and March 10 (all Tuesdays) from 12-1pm. These webinars are free to attend and require pre-registration.

WORKSHOP: Organic Farmers

WORKSHOP: Fruit and Vegetable Growers

OFFMA Summit of the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention (OFVC), Niagara Falls, ON February 19, 2015(Thursday)

 

3 – 4 pm Open to anyone registered for the OFVC.At this mini-workshop, you will learn tips for generating evaluating value added ideas and their fit for your business. Direct Marketer, Jason Presall, from Persall Fine Foods and Pristine Gourmet, will share how taking a planned approach helped in developing his value-added products. You will also be introduced to course materials and online tools.
