Roots to Harvest – Urban Agriculture Development Intern

 

1-year contract; 35 hours/week; $16/hour

Roots to Harvest, a Sustain Ontario member, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and willing candidate to begin in November 2014. The Urban Agriculture Development Intern will work closely with the Program Coordinator to develop and deliver hands on experiential learning opportunities and food engagement projects for high school aged youth in Thunder Bay. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working with a team of people and who is incredibly great at taking initiative and working independently. This position will offer skills in facilitation, problem solving, project management, and all things food – apiary, aquaculture, animal husbandry, gardening and farming.

Roots to Harvest is a not-for-profit group based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. They provide transformative educational opportunities for youth to engage with local agriculture and cultivate healthy communities.

To be eligible for the job, candidates must have graduated from an accredited university or college within the last three years, have no more than one year experience in the field of their degree, be eligible to work in Canada and have not had an NOHFC internship position before.
