The Nutrition Resource Centre (of the Ontario Public Health Association) is hosting a panel webinar on June 6th, “Beyond Food Charters:Collaborating Towards Provincial and Municipal Food Policy.” The panel, moderated by Sustain’s Carolyn Young, will discuss the challenges and opportunities present in working models of food policy councils and cross-sectoral alliances in Ontario.

From the Nutrition Resource Centre:

Join Carolyn Young, Program Manager at Sustain Ontario, for a frank discussion on the challenges and opportunities that food presents when it “connects us all.”  The discussion will dissect the working model of food policy councils and cross-sectoral alliances like Sustain to take an honest look at how these models are working, how they are garnering political engagement and engaging diverse stakeholders in a process of learning.   With four food champions from across Ontario, Bridget King from the Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council, Lyndsay Davidson from the Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council, Kelly Maloney from Kawartha Lakes Food Coalition and Barbara Emmanual from the City of Toronto’s Food Strategy, we will no doubt hear from a diversity of contexts and perspectives that will help give some depth to the discussion.

The webinar will take place on Friday, June 6th, starting at 11:00a.m. Register online for free.
